The EXHIBITION GDS “Trends of spring season 2014” was organized in September 2013.
 According to its results F. Houser and D. Pakatchi made the fashion forecast for spring 2014 in the following areas:

The shoe models
In spring 2014 the main trends in the shoes models become lace-up shoes, pointy-toed shoes without heel, athletic hybrid shoes and summer Loafers.
 
The predominant are beige and brown tones. Trendy/fashionable colors will be are silver/gold, black/white, indigo/"denim" and white. The list of fashion colors (with tones Pantone) is in a separate table below.
 
Regarding the materials the most frequent will be nubuck leather and suede, usually in combination with a metallic effect finishing. According to the exhibition GDS, the German shoe retail focuses on materials such as suede and nubuck leather, while outside Germany these materials do not get such popularity in comparison with smooth skin and materials with metallic effect.
 
Women's Shoes:
Boats are decorated with pearls, crystals and other elements to make them spectacular and eye-catching. Summer boots trim with rivets, as well as laser perforation, with carved patterns and woven to create the effect of summer ease. Furthermore, there are various combinations of materials using silver or gold elements.
 
In the women's segment is also growing relevance of sports shoes. In fashion there are sneakers in basketball style which are looking battered as well as these which are looking elegant and chic.

Men's Shoes:
In the men's segment the central theme are Loafers of bright colors, often made of soft suede material. In such footwear are also used relevant contrast stitching, laces tied to the bow and brushes (Bommel). In addition, the various models of docksiders have been widely presented. In such models should be colorless or light colored base.
 
Of course, in the men's segment the sports shoes are also on the height of fashion. In walking shoes should be mentioned the so-called "transparency" (laser perforation, embossed patterns).

Children’s shoes:
In children's footwear segment trends are similar to trends in the adult segment, including the golden shades, sequins, metallic finish, pearls, rhinestones. Manufacturers also pay special attention to sports shoes. It is interesting to note that often at the end of the light soles are applied prints. From the point of view of colors is definitely difficult to mention trendy colors. But more prevalent are muted tones (the bright neon colors almost does not exist). The "Colored" accents are basically prints (camouflage).

Colors
During spring 2014 the main theme will be black and white. This combination is found in many models of shoes, especially in the women's segment, often in combination with lacquer materials.
Also can be seen shades of blue, from dark blue to indigo.
In rest the dominated colors are atypicaly for spring season, these are gray and beige shades.
 
Gold and silver are used in various forms and colors (especially in finishing).These colors are widely used by all manufacturers. This trend has affected all models, beginning from shoes with heels and ending with sports shoes.

Boots, sandals, espadrilles, etc. are often trimmed with fringe, decorated with animal prints or presented in brown or sallowness colors.
